At the Church on the Hill we have many different kinds of small groups. People often associate the words “small groups” with an image of a few people sitting in a living room, working through a Bible study and sharing some coffee and dessert. While this is a part of our small group ministry, and a vital way to get connected to true fellowship in the church, we have a broader definition of Small Groups and would love to see you find your place in it.
We’d love to include you in one of our small groups, so if you are looking to get connected, please contact Pastor Del for information and available groups. Our Small Group (Nurture Group) season starts in September and generally runs through to the end of May. As we proceed with ‘Sermon Based Small Group Curriculum’, study guides are made available to groups and individuals which encourage our entire church family to grow and be transformed together. Our Children and Youth departments also follow these same themes resulting in a consistent message and direction for individuals and families alike. Although this Sermon Based curriculum is encouraged, some groups choose their own curriculum from our extensive Resource library… either way, our desire is to ‘Follow Jesus Together’ into a vital and transformational relationship with Him! Come Join Our Family!
Our Small Group Ministry is called “Body Building Ministries” and we are committed to “the equipping of the saints… to the building up of the Body in Christ” (Ephesians 4: 12-13)
Our Purpose is to encourage & promote:
-Connection & Fellowship
-Discipleship
-Ministry & Practical Living
-Transformation
Body Building Ministries are broken into Four Areas:
1. Link Groups: Activity based groups who operate wholesome events to link or ‘connect’ with people from outside the walls of our church.
2. Nurture Groups: Exist for the purpose of pursuing Christ in understanding, community and action. Generally ‘Home Study Groups’ dealing with varying topics of Biblical study.
3. Service Groups: Any group or team within the church that provides
a service/ministry to the church family.
If you would like to sign up to join a Nurture Group or get more information on becoming involved in another area of small group ministry, please call the church office at 494-3881.
