A Farewell Letter from the Schrams
Larry & Erna Schram
A Letter to our SBC Family,
Our hearts are full as we close our SBC chapter and open a new one in the Lower Mainland. Larry’s role as the Regional Minister with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC) will be an entirely new undertaking, and so we value your prayers. We stepped out in obedience to God’s call, and are confident that He will continue to lead, guide and equip us as well as you—into the future.
Ten years ago you welcomed us into the SBC Family, and we have certainly felt your love and acceptance. Leaving this close fellowship is difficult, and we will miss you very much. We appreciate the kindnesses you have shown over the years, with cards, emails, hugs, gifts, words of encouragement, laughter, baking, meals, fruit, and more. The big moments such as weddings, baptisms, baby dedications and funerals have served to forge deeper connections. And all the in-between moments have allowed us to live life with you and develop “family” ties.
Thank you for trusting us, working alongside us, serving in the church together, growing in fellowship, faith and relationship.
As we leave you we echo Paul’s sentiments: “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus….And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:3-6, 9-11)
