Connect Small Groups

At SBC we believe that we are better together.

When we Connect Small, it is all about pursuing authentic relationships and spiritual growth.  When you join a group, you will spend time socializing, learning, and praying together. All you have to do is show up, join in, and be real. If you are interested in one of our Connect Small groups, please fill out the form and the leader will be in touch. Note; all connect small groups will meet virtually (via Zoom) until Provincial regulations change.

The Marriage Course

A strong marriage isn’t a lucky accident, it’s something you build.

The Marriage Course is a series of seven sessions, designed to help married couples invest in their relationship and build a strong marriage.

The seven weeks will cover:

  • Strengthening Connection
  • The Art of Communication
  • Resolving Conflict
  • The Power of Forgiveness
  • The Impact of Family
  • Good Sex
  • Love in Action

When you register for the course your leader will email you with the Zoom link.

The evening will begin with a group video followed by some simple instructions for each couple to discuss privately.

There is no open discussion between couples. You and your spouse will chat in private – it’s a date for you both!

This small group is no longer taking registrations.

Parenting Through the Phases

On Mondays, starting Feb 22, we are launching Parenting Through the Phases. This is an inspiring, guilt-free six week parenting small group that will help you make the most of the developmental phase your child or teen is in right now. It’s never too late, even if you’re parenting a twelfth grader.

This small group is no longer taking registrations.

Connections Men's Group

Led by: Luke Johnson

Are you missing simple connection with guys your age? Do you want to simply “hang out” or “do life” together? Excuse the buzz words, but I just had to. This is a men’s group designed to simply create connections, do life together, and spark some meaningful conversations. Open to men ages 25 – 55, this group will start meeting virtually (first meeting via Zoom is Sunday, Feb 28). Then, as we are able, we will come together and celebrate COVID freedom!

Seven Habits of Highly Effective People

Led by: Megan Borchert

This small group will be coupling material from Steven Covey’s “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” with what scripture has to say on the spirit of each habit. The bulk of discussions will be on how these habits, and often their inversions manifest in our lives. Starting on Feb 18th, there will be 6 sessions, every second Thursday evening at 7:00 pm on Zoom (until the restrictions lift). Each session will be around 60 mins in length. Give yourself a night off from putting down the kids, catching up on emails or watching Netflix to cozy up (with something delicious to eat or drink) to learn, reflect and share. Geared for: Moms.

Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets

Led by: Ken & Jenny Kunka

In this six-session video Bible study you will discuss five key questions to ask when you have a decision to make and you’re not sure what to do. We never know what or who hangs in the balance of the decisions we make. But what we do know is this: private decisions have public implications. Your private decisions probably won’t stay private, and personal decisions will impact some other persons.

These five simple questions will empower you to:
  • Make better decisions with fewer regrets
  • Pause when feeling tension over a decision
  • Take the long view
  • Look for the wise option
  • Focus on the relational impact of decisions
