Youth

We are passionate about encouraging our young people in their faith. We want to create a community where our youth can cultivate meaningful relationships with Jesus and each other

Sunday Night Youth

We have two types of gatherings: worship nights, and small group nights.

Our worship nights happen on the first Sunday of each month. We gather at the church in the sanctuary to hang out, hear a teaching, and worship God together. It's a vibrant gathering where all of SBC Youth gather together under one roof. Our small group nights are on Sunday nights where there isn't a worship night or special event. Small group gatherings are really the core of what we do at SBC Youth. There are multiple groups meeting around the town of Summerland. Groups are split up by grade and gender, and consist of hanging out, watching a teaching, discussion, and prayer. It's in these groups where we form deep community and connection. If you have any questions about these gatherings please email Aden or Tianna.

Bible Masterclass

The Bible Masterclass is a two year program where we go over the basics of the Bible and what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Typically, students will go into the regular service with their parent or guardian. After a few songs of worship, students will then be dismissed and can head downstairs where we will gather to learn and discuss following Jesus together. Although we think having age appropriate programming is important, we also think getting students used to being a part of a regular church gathering is equally as important. That is why on the first Sunday of each month students are encouraged to stay in the service to get a taste of what regular church is like. For students that are in Grade 8 or above we encourage them to serve in the various ministries we have on Sunday mornings, or join in on our Sunday service. If you have any questions about these gatherings please email Aden or Tianna.

Serve Vancouver Trip

Join us on July 3rd-7th as we head to Downtown Eastside Vancouver to partner with City Reach and Union Gospel Mission. We're honoured to go serve some of the most vulnerable people in our country alongside these great organizations. This trip is for youth who are going into Grade 9 and those older. We will be doing a variety of things including preparing fresh food hampers, sorting items for a thrift store and deep cleaning at a shelter.

The cost for the trip will be $550. The initial registration amount required is $200 and then we will be running three fundraisers that will help subsidize the remaining cost. Once they are done, we will ask for the remaining balance to be paid by June 30.
