Youth
Our goal at Youth is to practice following Jesus together.
Students in Grades 7-12 gather together weekly in either our Youth Gathering, Small Groups, or Connection Nights.
Our Youth Gathering happens once a month on Sunday’s from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Students meet together at Summerland Baptist Church for supper, connection, worship, teaching, and small group discussion.
Our small group gatherings happen midweek from 6:30pm-8:00pm (excluding the weeks where we have a large gathering). Students meet together in homes throughout the Summerland area with people of their same age and gender. During small groups, students hang out, read scripture, and wrestle with what it means to follow Jesus together.
Our Connection Gatherings happen throughout the year with the goal of just having fun and connecting together. This includes events like our Late Nighter, Grinch Night, and Small Groups Off-Sites. Our Small Group Off-Sites are a time where small groups can just hang out and have fun. Whether it’s going to a movie, doing some baking, or sitting around a fire, small groups will gather together just hang out, have fun, and connect with one another.

Youth Gatherings
Student Leadership is a journey of learning how you, personally, are called to follow Jesus.
This group will gather together monthly over lunch after a Sunday service. We will evaluate the last Youth Gathering and plan for our next gathering. Student leaders will be empowered to help in various ways at our large gatherings.
In addition to this, our hope is that students will experience closer community, greater ownership of their own faith, opportunity to see and contribute to how ministries happen, encouragement and accountability to lean into spiritual practices and supportive mentorship.
Applications open Sept 28 and closed Oct 12, 2025. We will be approving a maximum of 8 students in grades 10-12 (with preference given to the older grades.)
